CIAMIS, Thecuy.com – The Population Control, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection Agency (DP2KBP3A) of Ciamis Regency urges all schools to ensure that the 2026/2027 school year’s School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) is child‑friendly.

School introduction activities are expected to be an enjoyable experience for new students, free from hazing or pressure that could affect their mental well‑being.

To guarantee this, DP2KBP3A went directly to several schools to provide education on child protection and to monitor the implementation of MPLS so that it complies with child‑friendly school principles.

The Head of PPPA Division at DP2KBP3A of Ciamis Regency, Elis Lismayani SKM Bdn MM, stated that MPLS must be able to create an atmosphere that makes students feel safe, comfortable, and happy from the first day of school.

“We have started incorporating MPLS activities at schools, such as SMPN 1 Cisaga and SMP Miftahul Ulum Baregbeg. This is intended to ensure that the entire series of MPLS activities runs in accordance with child‑friendly principles,” she said to Radar on Wednesday (15/7/2026).

According to her, the material provided not only introduces the school environment but also imparts to students an understanding of child protection in order to avoid various forms of violence, such as bullying, verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual violence, and threats via social media.

“How can we motivate new students while ensuring that MPLS is child‑friendly and enjoyable? Then, they can also become pioneers and reporters, so that children are free from all forms of pressure or violence,” she said.

She added that visits during MPLS are part of the Ciamis Regency Government’s commitment to create a safe, comfortable, and inclusive educational environment from the first day of school.

“The MPLS material will later be about how students can conduct early detection of sexual violence against children and be able to adapt well in a new learning environment,” she said.

Elis explained that early detection of sexual violence is important for students to understand so that they can recognize signs such as persuasion, threats, or inappropriate touching. If they experience or become aware of such indications, students are expected to report them immediately to Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers or the PPPA Division of DP2KBP3A of Ciamis Regency.
