TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Tasikmalaya City Prosecutor’s Office affirmed that law enforcement should be strict while also being friendly to citizens. This reflects the ideal image of law enforcement.

A humane legal service is seen as essential to dispel the notion that people should be afraid to visit the prosecutor’s office.

This commitment was articulated at the Public Consultation Forum (FKP) on Optimizing Public Services of the Tasikmalaya City Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday (15/7/2026), attended by representatives from the government, academics, the banking sector, and other relevant parties.

The Head of the Tasikmalaya City Prosecutor’s Office, Erny Veronica Maramba, emphasized that excellent public service must go hand in hand with law enforcement that upholds dignity.

In her view, all prosecutors must continue to perform their duties, functions, and authorities optimally, while guaranteeing that citizens seeking justice receive the best possible service.

“This high-quality service is aimed at the public, especially those seeking justice. Law enforcement must also consider public interests, from the rights of suspects, defendants, to convicts, in accordance with legal provisions,” she said.

Erny stressed that asset seizures may only be carried out on the proceeds of crime or instruments used to commit crimes.

She believes that all legal proceedings must uphold justice and the principle of the presumption of innocence until a final, legally binding verdict is rendered.

She also reminded the public not to pass judgment on anyone before the legal process has concluded.

“We prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence. Let the legal process run its course for the good of society and the law-enforcement institution,” she said.

During that occasion, Erny disclosed that the Tasikmalaya City Prosecutor’s Office is being nominated for the Clean Government Award (WBK) status.

She asserts that attaining this status is not merely about paperwork, but is built upon a culture of integrity.

“Integrity is simple, it’s the alignment between what is spoken and what is done. Even when nobody is watching, one still does what is right,” she asserted.

According to Erny, sincere public service can only be delivered by officials who possess integrity.

Therefore, all staff, from security personnel to those in the One-Stop Integrated Service Unit (PTSP), must grasp the philosophy of serving the community.

For instance, she cited the banking sector’s service culture that greets guests warmly, politely, and offers assistance from the moment they enter.
