Pangandaran, Thecuy.com – The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) forecasts a drought risk across 10 districts of Pangandaran Regency.

The Head of BPBD Implementation, Dodo Kusnadi of Pangandaran Regency, said that residents in several villages—including Mangunjaya Village in Mangunjaya District, Pamotan Village in Kalipucang District, and Parakanmanggu Village in Parigi District—are already facing drought and a shortage of clean water.

“BPBD has not yet received any reports of drought‑related losses, either in agriculture or clean water supply,” he told Radar on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

48 residents of Pangandaran became victims of a fraudulent lottery, causing losses of Rp 868,855,000, and the Department of Transportation became a collector of fees!

His party has delivered clean water to the three villages, though no further requests have been made so far.

According to Dodo, the villages that have already received clean water supplies from BPBD are Mangunjaya Village in Mangunjaya District, Pamotan Village in Kalipucang District, and Parakanmanggu Village in Parigi District.

He said the local government is currently drafting a Regent Regulation on disaster alert emergency as a follow‑up to the West Java Provincial Government. “Pangandaran’s status is not yet a disaster emergency; it remains on alert,” he stated.

Nevertheless, due to the El Niño phenomenon, the local government remains vigilant about the potential drought disaster that could hit Pangandaran Regency.

Dodo added that the central government has provided assistance for constructing boreholes, both within the Public Works Department for irrigation purposes and for supplying clean water at several locations.

“BPBD has received a single aid package, specifically for drilling boreholes to supply clean water only,” he said. (Deni Nurdiansah)
