In the fading twilight of Cineam, Tasikmalaya Regency, an immense crowd gathered on Friday, July 10 2026, as a towering wayang golek stage rose in the courtyard of Mako Batalyon D Pelopor Satbrimob Polda Jawa Barat, drawing thousands of pairs of eyes.

The wayang golek show, titled Pesta Rakyat, was staged to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Bhayangkara, the 394th anniversary of Tasikmalaya Regency, and to celebrate the founding of Mako Batalyon D Pelopor.
People arrived not only from Tasikmalaya Regency but also from Tasikmalaya city, Garut, Ciamis, Banjar, and Pangandaran, swelling the venue’s attendance.
They had come since the afternoon to watch the performance of the renowned maestro Ki Dalang Yogaswara Sunandar Sunarya, affiliated with Giri Harja 3 Putra.
Before the main performance began, the stage hosted a different facet of policing through a community‑service event.
Orphans from Pasir Batang Village in Manonjaya District and from Ancol Village in Cineam District received aid as a sign of social concern.
The ceremony progressed with the symbolic handing over of the Bhayangkara character Abimanyu by Komandan Batalyon D Pelopor, Kompol Ajang Suhendar, together with West Java cultural figure Irjen Pol (Purn) Anton Charliyan, to the dalang, marking the start of the show.
For Kompol Ajang Suhendar, wayang is more than fleeting entertainment; each character and story carries lessons on leadership, bravery, honesty, and service—values that echo the Bhayangkara spirit.
