The explosion that ripped through the Dadaha district of Tasikmalaya City on Saturday night, July 11 2026, remains the centerpiece of an ongoing police probe.

A heated argument among local traders quickly escalated into a powerful blast, prompting authorities to act swiftly and bring in the Mobile Police’s Jibom unit from West Java together with Densus 88.

Tasikmalaya City Police Chief AKBP Andi Purwanto said his office received a report from the Dadaha UPTD at roughly 11:00 PM WIB concerning the blast in the area.

The police chief urged the public to maintain security and order and not be provoked by situations that could worsen the condition.

I ask that people understand and empathize with one another so that community life can be safer, he stated.

Earlier, Radar Tasikmalaya reported that the incident began with a dispute among street vendors in the Dadaha area.

However, the conflict escalated into a serious concern after an explosion occurred in the park area.

The blast originated from an electricity meter box attached to one of the park’s lamp posts.

Police immediately set up a cordon at the site and requested assistance from the Jibom team of the West Java Mobile Police to conduct a full sterilization and inspection.
