PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – Laut yang menjadi sumber penghidupan nelayan Pantai Timur Pangandaran tiba-tiba menyimpan kejutan berbahaya.
Bukan ikan besar yang tersangkut di jaring, melainkan sebuah benda keras mencurigakan yang bentuknya menyerupai granat mortir.
Temuan tersebut membuat suasana pesisir Pantai Pasir Putih, kawasan Cagar Alam Pangandaran, mendadak tegang pada Jumat (6/11/2026).

A suspicious object was discovered by a fisherman named Ade Lasamsudin around 08.45 WIB while fishing.
When hauling the net, he felt an unusual weight due to a hard object that was stuck.
“When I pulled the net up, it felt extremely heavy and there was a hard object stuck. After I looked closer, it resembled a solid iron pipe with an unusual tip,” said Ade.
Feeling suspicious about the iron-like object, Ade lifted it from the net and took it to the shoreline. He then showed the discovery to several fellow fishermen.
The situation quickly escalated after one fisherman guessed that the item resembled an explosive device or military ordnance left over from World War II.
Not wanting to take any chances, Ade promptly reported the find to the Pangandaran Police Station.
Because the object, initially thought to be just scrap metal, could potentially pose a serious threat.

Responding to the report, combined personnel from the Sat Samapta of Polres Pangandaran and Polsek Pangandaran immediately arrived at the scene.
Police set up a security line to restrict access for residents and tourists around the discovery site.
The Chief of Polres Pangandaran, AKBP Ikrar Potawari, through the Chief of Polsek Pangandaran, AKP Mohammad Farkhan, urged the public, fishermen, and tourists not to approach the location.
“We immediately instructed field officers to cordon off the area. We urge all residents, fishermen, and tourists vacationing at Pangandaran’s East Coast to temporarily avoid approaching the discovery site for safety reasons,” tuturnya.
He also reminded the public not to touch, move, or relocate the object on their own.
Handling the suspicious object cannot be done haphazardly. The police coordinated with the Gegana Team of the West Java Regional Brimob to conduct an inspection and handling according to explosive safety procedures.
