TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The leading products of Tasikmalaya City are being pushed to reach the international market. Through parliamentary diplomacy, the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of the DPR RI is ready to act as a bridge to showcase regional potential so it becomes more widely recognized and competitive worldwide.
The commitment was voiced during a working visit and interactive dialogue held by the DPR RI’s BKSAP as part of the BKSAP Day event at the Balekota Tasikmalaya Hall on Friday, November 6, 2026.
The event was attended by a delegation from the DPR RI’s BKSAP, Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, the Regional Secretary, and several heads of local government agencies within the Tasikmalaya City Administration.

Member of the DPR RI’s BKSAP Abu Bakar Alhabsyi said that Tasikmalaya City has several distinctive products with potential for introduction to the international market. Among them are embroidery crafts and the geulis umbrella, which have long served as both an identity and a pillar of the region’s creative economy.
He believes that BKSAP’s international network can be leveraged as a platform to showcase these flagship products in various global forums.
Nevertheless, efforts to enter the global market must be accompanied by the readiness of local business actors. This includes product quality, quality standards, and the ability to meet international market demands.
“The best local entrepreneurs must be prepared. In addition, the second and third generations in the business also need to be involved. We must not let the sustainability of the business be cut off because regeneration does not take place,” he said.
He hopes that the potential held by Tasikmalaya City will not only become a source of local pride but also be able to grow and secure a position in the world market.
Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan welcomed the visit positively. In his view, the presence of the DPR RI’s BKSAP offers an opportunity for Tasikmalaya City to broaden the marketing reach of its products and open up access to international cooperation.
Viman likened the current situation to a team that is only strong at home. Through this collaboration, the city’s products and potential are expected to become strong on the road, penetrating wider markets.
