Rainy Day Serenade anime unveiled a key visual and a teaser trailer last Friday, displaying its principal performers. The broadcast premiere was set for April 2027, and the core production team was also disclosed.
Yume Miyamoto leads the cast as Hina Katagiri, with Takeo Otsuka providing the voice for Takaaki Hongo. The series is animated by Tezuka Production and directed by Takashi Kamei. Yoko Yonaiyama oversees the series composition, while character designs are handled by Nobuteru Yuki.
The anime adapts a manga authored and illustrated by Haruka Kawachi. It appeared in Kodansha’s josei magazine Kiss from November 2014 through November 2025, spanning 14 volumes. Kodansha USA has licensed the work for an English 2‑in‑1 omnibus edition slated for release in January 2027. The storyline follows Hina, who on rainy days dreams of a younger self playing with a mysterious boy in an unfamiliar garden. She later discovers this place, where a young man named Takaaki—mistaking her for his fiancée Hinako—takes her to what he believes is her home. There, Hina’s doppelgänger awaits, revealing she’s actually in Japan in 1907, not present‑day Tokyo, blurring the line between dream and something far stranger.
