Starvision presents a brand‑new horror film titled Dewi Siluman Ular, scheduled for release in Indonesian theaters from 12 November 2026. Featuring Derby Romero, Anya Geraldine, Aulia Sarah, and Aghniny Haque, the movie explores the theme of pesugihan (a sinister pact) woven with supernatural horror and emotional family conflicts.
Directed by Azhar Kinoi Lubis and produced by Chand Parwez Servia, Dewi Siluman Ular is based on Prasodjo Muhammad’s podcast titled “Nikah Sama Jin”, featuring Sherly Indria as a contributor. The film follows Dedi (Derby Romero), a family head facing severe financial strain, who is forced into a pact with Dewi (Anya Geraldine), a snake‑shaped spirit.
Facing a desperate situation caused by debt and his wife’s need for childbirth expenses, Dedi resorts to a shortcut by marrying Dewi. That choice brings major consequences that endanger his own life and that of his family.
By blending creature horror, pesugihan, and family drama, the film also examines a husband’s struggle to meet his duties as a family provider. The story offers viewpoints on sacrifice, ambition, and the consequences of decisions made under tough circumstances.
Anya Geraldine says she had a fresh experience playing Dewi. The character is portrayed not only as a captivating and terrifying spirit, but also as possessing emotional depth, including jealousy, anger, and affection.
Meanwhile, Aulia Sarah takes on the role of Rahma, Dedi’s first wife who seeks a better life after going through various phases together with her husband. Meanwhile, Aghniny Haque portrays Lela, Dedi’s third wife, whose simple character contrasts with both Rahma and Dewi.
In addition to the four lead actors, the film also features Humaira Jahra, Ashraf Dirgham, Arswendy Bening Swara, Totos Rasiti, Azzalia Assyifa, Ayu Diah Pasha, Yatti Surachman, Arief Didu, Ence Bagus, Judith Callysta, Agung Bla, and Aldo Gudel.
The screenplay was written by Upi and Ayu Anggraini Putri. Meanwhile, the executive producers are Reza Servia, Amrit Dido Servia, and Raza Servia.
Through a mix of supernatural terror and family life conflicts, Dewi Siluman Ular provides a horror experience that isn’t solely based on suspense, but also showcases drama concerning responsibility and sacrifice.
The film Dewi Siluman Ular will begin screening in all Indonesian cinemas on 12 November 2026. For the latest updates, follow Instagram @starvisionplus and @filmdewisilumanular as well as TikTok @StarvisionMovie.
