TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Following three weeks after being reported missing, R (15), a teenage girl from Kampung Desa Kolot, Rancapaku village, Padakembang subdistrict, was found safe. The police located the class IX junior high school student in the Simpang Gebu area, near Saung Singaparna, on Sunday (1/11/2026).

R is known to have left home on 13 October 2026. At that time, she said she would go play, but she never came back. The family attempted to search for her on their own. However, those efforts did not yield any results.

The mobile phone that R carried, belonging to her mother, was still active. Nonetheless, communication was difficult because the number was not easily reachable.

R’s mother, Euis Ratnasari, said she was very worried after two weeks of searching for her child without success. The family then reported the disappearance to the Regional Commission for the Protection of Children Indonesia (KPAID) of Tasikmalaya Regency.

“I reported my child missing at KPAID. I didn’t report to the police yesterday because my child’s phone was still active,” Euis said.

In response to the report, the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Tasikmalaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit, together with KPAID, conducted an investigation to confirm the victim’s whereabouts.

Josner Ringgo, head of the PPA unit at Tasikmalaya Police, said his team had questioned seven witnesses who were known to have interacted with R after she left home.

The police investigation focused on several locations, ranging from the Kudang Singaparna area in Cisayong District to Dapur MBG in Kubang Eceng, Leuwisari District.

“Communication was interrupted because the victim ran out of data quota. We eventually provided for her needs, including food,” Josner said on Sunday (1/11/2026).

The police then enlisted the help of a friend known to the victim during her time away from home to establish communication. Through this approach, R agreed to meet and was subsequently found in Simpang Gebu, near Saung Singaparna.

Heru Samsul Bahri, head of Criminal Investigation at Tasikmalaya Police, confirmed that R’s departure was not due to abduction but was a voluntary act.

“Our officers always work with compassion to serve the community. The victim has been found and is now placed in a safe house for psychological recovery, in cooperation with KPAID and UPTD PPA,” Heru said.

Meanwhile, Ato Rinanto, Chairman of KPAID of Tasikmalaya Regency, said that family problems were one of the underlying factors for R’s departure from home.
