TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com–At the closing of the Sumpah Pemuda commemorations, the Tasikmalaya City Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI) convened a youth forum (saresehan) at the Dadaha Creative Center (GCC) on Friday (30/10/2026). During the event, a cooperation agreement was signed by youths and the mayor.

The forum was attended by Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, city government officials, Tasikmalaya City Police, and several community leaders.

On that occasion, Viman said he was willing to open a communication channel with young people, provided it aligned with the government’s goal of nation-building. Therefore, he presented a range of Tasikmalaya city government programs up to the President’s Asta Cita.

The RTLH program cannot yet assist elderly and disabled grandchildren living in a hut in downtown Tasikmalaya. In downtown Tasikmalaya, an elderly grandfather and his disabled grandchild live in an uninhabitable hut.

Viman admitted that many government programs still face obstacles. Therefore, improvements are needed in practice. “Because surely the program will not be perfect right away,” he said.

Hence, he hoped that youths under the KNPI banner could help oversee various government policies. This includes the Free Nutritious Food (MBG) program, in which he wants young people to ensure that the SPPG operates properly.

He also asked KNPI to act as a catalyst by gathering and summarising the aspirations of young people. The city government will then implement them through programs and budgets.

The current issues concerning young people that have become a focus are the risks of juvenile delinquency or motorcycle gangs, bullying cases, and the threat of drugs. These three points will be the focus of collaboration between the government and young people.

The Chairman of Tasikmalaya City KNPI, Dani Tardiwan, said his organization is also ready to become a strategic partner to the government. This involves designing various strategies to protect young people from drugs, motorcycle gangs, and to anticipate bullying incidents. “We will then intensify communication with the city government and the Tasikmalaya City Police,” he said.

When asked about the invitation to oversee the MBG program, Dani welcomed the idea. According to him, young people also have the potential to contribute to the program’s success. “In order to oversee this MBG program, one of the things is the quality of the products produced, how it is distributed,” he said.
