TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The commute to work took a fatal turn for Ani Heriani (60), a fabric shop employee from Cipedes District, Tasikmalaya City. She lost her life after being struck by a train at the Parhon crossing, Indihiang District, on Friday (23/10/2026) morning.
The incident occurred at around 06.58 WIB on the railway line at KM 264+6/7. The train involved was KA KLB Balas traveling the Tasikmalaya–Cicalengka route.
The City Police Chief of Tasikmalaya, Ipda Jonih Jonansa, confirmed the incident of a person being hit by a train, resulting in the victim’s death.

Based on a police report, initial information about the incident was received by railway security officers from the train travel security team. Witnesses then went to the scene and found the victim lying on the tracks before reporting it to the Indihiang Police Station.
From the preliminary information gathered, the victim was on her way to work at a fabric shop and intended to cross the railway track. Unfortunately, she was hit by KA KLB Balas passing through the line.
The victim was reported to have died at the scene. Police officers from the Tasikmalaya City Police, together with relevant personnel, arrived at the crime scene, conducted an examination, documented the location’s condition, and questioned witnesses.
The victim’s body was then taken to RSUD dr Soekardjo Tasikmalaya City Hospital for further examination.
In the police report, the victim sustained several injuries, including a fracture to the right hand, an open fracture to the right knee, and a laceration to the head.
The family is said to have accepted the incident and drawn up a statement. Meanwhile, the police carried out handling at the scene to document the event and report it to their superiors.
This incident serves as a reminder once more that crossing railway tracks requires extra vigilance. On tracks used by trains, a momentary lapse can lead to fatal consequences. (Rezza Rizaldi)
