Street Fighter Bawa Nostalgia Game Klasik ke Layar Lebar Mulai 14 Oktober

The legendary Street Fighter franchise returns to the big screen in a new film directed by Kitao Sakurai. Produced by Legendary Pictures in collaboration with Capcom, the movie will be shown in Indonesian cinemas from 14 October 2026, starring Ryu (Andrew Koji), Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), and Chun-Li (Callina Liang) in an action-packed adventure filled with nostalgia.

Set in 1993, when Street Fighter II was at the height of its popularity, the film takes audiences back to the golden age of arcades. The cultural atmosphere, music, and iconic characters create an experience that bridges long-time fans with a new generation. For Noah Centineo, playing Street Fighter with his cousin late into the night remains one of his most cherished childhood memories.

To preserve the franchise’s distinctive identity, Sakurai incorporates a visual style inspired by the 1990s. One example is a flashback scene featuring Ryu and Ken that uses traditional hand‑drawn animation, with each frame crafted by hand.

The movie showcases martial arts action with 14 major fight scenes. The stunt team blends various disciplines—such as Shotokan, Goju‑Ryu, Judo, Wushu, Tai Chi, and Kung Fu—to translate the game’s distinctive moves into dynamic choreography. Callina Liang also undergoes intense training five to six days a week to bring Chun‑Li to life, a character known for her swift and powerful kicks.

“Street Fighter maintains a strong connection across multiple generations because everyone has their own favorite character and memories tied to the game,” said Julius Daniel Suhakri, Head of Marketing Paramount Pictures Indonesia.

With this film, they aim to revive that energy while providing a fresh experience for audiences who are new to the franchise.

The spirit of Street Fighter is also reflected in fan activities in Indonesia. At Indonesia Comic Con 2026, attendees can join the Smash the Car challenge, a game inspired by the bonus stage of Street Fighter II. Additionally, a cosplay parade at Car Free Day Jakarta adds to the series of events organized with FTL Gym.

Set against a world of conflict, Ryu and Ken must confront their past when Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior tournament. Beneath the competition lies a dangerous conspiracy that tests their friendship and skills.

Street Fighter will be shown in Indonesian cinemas from 14 October 2026. Further information can be found on the official Street Fighter website.
