BANDUNG, Thecuy.com– Public interest in studying the duties and functions of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) continues to grow. This is evident from the participation of over 700 entrants in the LPS Call for Research 2026 (LPS CFR 2026), with 35 finalists selected through a rigorous selection process.
The Chairman of the LPS Board of Commissioners, Anggito Abimanyu, said that the high participation indicates a rising interest among academics, researchers, professionals, and the general public in deposit insurance research and the financial sector.
“This year the enthusiasm is very encouraging, with more than 700 participants joining the competition and 35 finalists selected through a strict selection process,” said Anggito at the LPS CFR 2026 and Research Fair 2026 event in Bandung on Saturday (10/10/2026).
Pramuka Tasikmalaya enhances the capacity of young protocol cadres; UMB students enjoy playing traditional “Kaulinan” games.
The rise in research interest is also reflected in the number of papers received by LPS in previous events. In 2025, LPS received 402 research papers, up from 294 papers in 2024.
Anggito considered that trend a positive sign for strengthening the national research ecosystem, especially studies related to LPS’s role in maintaining financial system stability and public trust.
“We are proud that public interest in research, especially concerning the role and functions of LPS, continues to rise. We hope that the best works will not remain merely competition documents. Let us develop them into tangible inputs for LPS policies, strengthening public trust and accelerating national economic growth that enhances welfare. The best research not only answers scientific questions but also helps solve the nation’s problems,” he added.
LPS CFR was organized to foster innovation and broaden the pool of ideas, while bridging academia, industry, and policymakers. The event also aims to build a professional, independent, objective, and integrity‑driven national research ecosystem.
Through LPS CFR 2026, LPS encourages the production of high‑quality research that can inform the formulation of financial sector policies. The research findings and analysis are expected to provide new perspectives for strengthening banking system stability and maintaining public confidence in the national financial industry.
At this year’s event, LPS announced winners from six competition categories as well as the Promising Papers category to honor promising works from researchers across various regions of Indonesia.
