Kadokawa has unveiled a visual, a trailer, and production details for the upcoming anime The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter (Hone Dragon no Manamusume). Kana Hanazawa and Kazuhiko Inoue will voice Eve and Nemu, the Skull Dragon. Doga Kobo (Asteroid in Love, Oshi no Ko) is handling the animation. The trailer can be watched below.
The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter additional production crew includes
- Tomo Atsumi — Character Design
- Yuka Yamada — Series Composition
- Daiki Kuribayashi — Background Art
- Yuki Hatakeyama — Background Art
The two voice actors expressed enthusiasm for the adaptation, with Kana Hanazawa remarking:
“Witnessing the beauty of everyday moments with someone dear, rendered so touchingly in animation, feels overwhelming—in the best possible way. While reading the source, I aimed to embody Eve with the freedom and sincerity she exudes. It’s turned out beautifully, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!!!” *
“It’s a tranquil, gentle series that comforts simply by being watched. I portray Nemu, a role that fits me perfectly as I’m always sleepy. I look forward to highlighting the warm connection that develops between Nemu and Eve and will give the recording my all. I hope you’re excited to see it!” *
The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter follows the tale of the skull dragon Nemu and the orphan Eve.
Having lived a long existence, the dragon Nemu nears his final breath. He spends his remaining days sleeping in the Forest of Scraps. When a five‑year‑old orphan named Eve discovers him, he takes her in, ending his solitude. After five years together, Nemu passes away. Their story continues, however: months later he is resurrected as a skull dragon. With new life, he vows to help Eve master her abilities before his second existence wanes.
To promote The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter, the production committee is holding a lottery for three postcards signed by Kana Hanazawa and Kazuhiko Inoue. Interested fans can join by following the anime’s X account and retweeting the campaign post. The drawing will take place at 11:59 pm on October 22, 2026 (JST).
Ichi Yukishir began publishing The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi site in September 2020. After two years there, the series transferred to Monthly Comic Garden in January 2022, where it ran until its finale in August 2025. The publisher collected the chapters into six tankōbon volumes.
