                <p>Hey beauties, a brand‑new game called Dressmaker has been making waves lately. This simulation title, launched on 21 September 2026, lets you run a clothing boutique and take custom orders from townsfolk for events ranging from dances and weddings to funerals.</p>

In this title you get to be a tailor, beauties. From measuring clients’ bodies and picking fabrics to laying out patterns, cutting material and stitching, the game hones your creativity because you control the whole garment‑making process.

Developed by Cozy Lives and published by Free Lives, Dressmaker has quickly become a viral sensation lately. But did you know there’s a touching story behind its creation?

Dressmaker was crafted by Jonathan Hau‑Yoon and his wife, Sabrina Becker. Becker’s passion for sewing goes back a long way; she even wore a dress she designed on their first date.

According to Dexerto, Becker once dreamed of a professional career in costume design. Fate had other plans, though, beauties; she was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers‑Danlos syndrome. For context, Ehlers‑Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a group of rare genetic disorders that affect the body’s connective tissue, including skin, joints, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels.

The effects can include extremely flexible yet unstable joints, joint pain and severe fatigue, though symptoms vary from person to person. This prevented Becker from continuing her sewing activities.

Nevertheless, Hau‑Yoon and Becker looked for another way to make her dream a reality. Together they created Dressmaker as a means to bring the creative process of sewing and designing clothes into a game while reviving Becker’s hobby.

Drawing on her sewing expertise, Becker designed and curated dress elements, set the visual direction, and provided feedback during playtesting. Her skill and love for the craft are truly woven throughout the game’s adventure.

Dressmaker surged to success quickly. The free prototype hit 100,000 downloads within two months, and excitement kept growing leading up to the launch, making the game go viral almost instantly.

Many players also left lengthy comments about how meaningful the title is to them. Becker said they’re getting lots of player requests, including a feature to iron clothes.

Dressmaker avoids focusing on any specific era so as not to limit players’ creativity. Still, Becker told The Guardian that the game has a vintage vibe, looking like it belongs to a time when people actually went to tailors to have dresses made.
