TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com—The bureaucracy within the Tasikmalaya City Government is currently in a troubled state. The outburst of Deputy Mayor Diky Candra reflects discord with the officials.

Deputy Mayor Diky expressed his frustration while attending an invitation from the Small and Micro Traders Association (PPKM) at the Dadaha shelter on Wednesday (8/10/2026). He said that since the beginning of the reorganization process, he had never been consulted or received reports from the relevant agencies, even when problems arose. “I don’t understand why every issue always ends up on my plate,” he said.

Nevertheless, when communication existed, he could offer insights that might inform potential solutions. “Let’s talk straight and resolve it properly,” he said.

Dozens of pilgrims fell victim to a bogus umrah travel operator in Tasikmalaya. After paying the full amount, they were forced to purchase their return tickets on their own. Meanwhile, Dadaha Road will be reopened following an evaluation that indicates the closure is not yet ready for permanent enforcement.

The issue is that, without any prior communication, he was forced to confront residents who raised concerns about the reorganization. This made him feel like a scapegoat or someone left to clean up the mess. “All of a sudden this problem appears, so we have to deal with it,” he said.

Therefore, Diky chose not to comment extensively on the Dadaha redevelopment policy, as he was unaware of the underlying rationale and studies conducted by the technical agency.

Besides the Dadaha issue, Diky was also frustrated with the attitude of civil servants, as, due to a series of commitments he had to attend, no official was willing to substitute for him. Moreover, at the same time, Diky had an appointment with central parliamentary officials in Jakarta to discuss assistance for Tasikmalaya City. “I only have one body but I need to be in two places, so it’s understandable that I asked for a substitution, but (the officials) were unwilling—no one wanted to,” he said.

Regarding Diky’s alleged non-involvement in the Dadaha reorganization, Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan dismissed the claim. According to him, all elements within the Tasikmalaya City Government were working together to carry out the reorganization. “Whether he was involved or not, we are all in this together,” he said.

When asked about reports on planning and progress of the reorganization that did not reach the deputy mayor, Viman gave an evasive answer, noting that each Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) has its own technical procedures. “The technical reporting of each progress is already in place,” he explained.
