TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com–The lack of a dedicated budget for the Dadaha redevelopment is not a valid excuse for the project to stall. If the Tasikmalaya City Government is truly committed, private entrepreneurs can be engaged by leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

In principle, all government programs should be planned with an allocated budget to ensure they can be completed successfully. However, in the case of the Dadaha redevelopment, the city administration proceeded without a budget, using the lack of funds as an excuse when progress halted.

If this action reflects the Tasikmalaya City Government’s genuine commitment to redevelop Dadaha, the absence of a budget should not be a reason for the effort to stall. The government could harness the resources of private entrepreneurs or companies through CSR funds.

PCNU’s review of the Tasikmalaya mayor: We are companions who don’t always agree. It’s not about judging; NU just wants to listen!

Kepler Sianturi, a member of Tasikmalaya City DPRD from the PDI Perjuangan faction, stated that the redevelopment of the Dadaha area should be conducted transparently and based on clear planning. He believes that the current evaluation of the ongoing redevelopment must promptly yield concrete actions.

Kepler even suspects that the current process seems merely to manufacture a scenario that would justify allocating a budget for the redevelopment.

“I see a contrived situation, as if the evaluation is being done to ensure that the redevelopment budget can be lowered,” Kepler said.

He asserts that the Dadaha Redevelopment Task Force must continue its work uninterrupted. The redevelopment should not be halted simply because adequate funding from the regional government has not yet been secured.

He urges the Tasikmalaya City Government to seek alternative funding sources through collaborative approaches, one of which is to maximize corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

“If the issue is funding, innovation is required. One should not think that the lack of government budget means the redevelopment will stop. Companies’ CSR can be maximized,” he said.

Kepler believes that such collaborative patterns align with the regional development spirit that does not solely depend on the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

He believes that the government must establish partnerships with various stakeholders, including businesses, particularly to support the improvement of street vendors (PKL), area facilities, and traffic management around Dadaha.
