TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com–The Dadaha revitalization still shows significant progress, though it seems to be stalling. Officials from Tasikmalaya City have cited an evaluation as the reason for this over the past two weeks.

Key issues in the revitalization process include the closure of Jalan Dadaha and the uncertainty regarding the placement of street vendors (PKL). However, both matters remain unresolved, with officials stating that an evaluation is currently underway.

On Monday, September 21, 2026, the Head of the Tasikmalaya City Department of Transportation, Iwan Kurniawan, stated that the Dadaha revitalization is in the evaluation phase. As a result, further steps regarding whether Jalan Dadaha will be reopened or permanently closed could not be confirmed at this time.

“Not yet, the comprehensive evaluation of the Dadaha Revitalization Task Force is still scheduled,” said Iwan at that time.

Entering October, the same reason was given by the Head of the Dadaha Complex Management UPTD, Dadang Ismail, when asked about the continuation of PKL revitalization. He could not provide further details about the revitalization in the area he manages.

“Yes, the evaluation process is still ongoing,” said Dadang on Thursday (1/10/2026).

He added that the PKL who were previously operating at various points in the Dadaha area have started to occupy the shelters that have been provided. However, the number of traders active in the area continues to fluctuate.

“The number is still fluctuating,” he briefly replied.

Previously, the Chairman of the Small and Micro Traders Association of the Dadaha Complex, H. Ana Nuryana, stated that traders have gradually started occupying the shelters, following instructions from the UPTD, although there are no official documents or commitments as expected.

“There is no MoU yet, but verbally, PKL are already allowed to occupy the shelters,” he said.

A Radar monitoring at the location revealed that some water barriers used as road dividers were partially opened in the afternoon, when traders begin to occupy the sidewalk.

Without police supervision, two-wheeled vehicles can pass through, despite signs prohibiting passage being installed. This situation also means that traffic management in the Dadaha area is not fully implemented according to the established regulations.
