TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The distribution of illegal cigarettes in Tasikmalaya City remains a focal point. The City’s Police Patrol Unit (Satpol PP) together with the Tasikmalaya Customs Office have stepped up monitoring and enforcement against illegal excise‑goods (BKC), especially cigarettes lacking excise stamps.

The head of the Tasikmalaya City Satpol PP, Yogi Subarkah S.STP., M.Si., stated that the initiative was implemented through a law‑enforcement synergy combined with public outreach. The measure is based on PMK Number 22 of 2026 concerning the Use of Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Funds (DBHCHT) and the Minister of Finance Decision Number 27/MK/BC/2026.

“In line with the provisions of PMK Number 22 of 2026, law enforcement encompasses coordination of planning, face‑to‑face socialization, capacity building, information gathering, and enforcement actions through joint field operations with the Customs Service,” Yogi said.

According to him, the ‘Gempur Rokok Ilegal’ movement does not rely solely on enforcement operations. Continuous education is also carried out involving various community elements.

The outreach targets campuses, Karang Taruna, the Community Development Agency (LPM), and traditional market communities. Meanwhile, joint operations are carried out at several locations deemed vulnerable to becoming illegal cigarette distribution routes.

Among them are grocery stores, courier services, bus loading areas, and locations suspected of being production sites. “Through this joint market operation, we aim to ensure that the scope for illegal cigarette circulation becomes increasingly limited, thereby optimizing the state’s revenue potential from the excise sector,” he said.

A summary of enforcement data shows that throughout 2025, the joint team of the Satpol PP and the Tasikmalaya Customs Service managed to seize 241,037 illegal cigarette sticks.

Enforcement continued from January to September 2026. During this period, 48,364 plain cigarette sticks were successfully secured from various locations in Cipedes, Tamansari, Purbaratu, Kawalu, and Bungursari.

Yogi stressed that supervision cannot rely solely on officers. The involvement of the community is essential to narrow the circulation of illegal cigarettes within their respective neighborhoods.

“We call on the public to actively participate in reporting the circulation of cigarettes without excise stamps as well as any disturbances to public order in their environment,” he said. (Firgiawan)
