TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – An alleged bullying case involving a high school student in Tasikmalaya has drawn strong criticism from the Young Association Institute (AMI).
The organization considers the alleged group violence no longer merely a teenage misbehavior.
AMI Chairman, Jausan Kamil, described the alleged assault as a serious issue that must be thoroughly investigated.

“Reading the fact that a student in Tasikmalaya was left bruised after being punched and slapped repeatedly by dozens of people makes us sick,” said Jausan in his statement on Sunday (27/9/2026).
He believes that if the allegation is true, the group violence indicates a far more serious issue than just a fight among students.
“This is no longer teenage misbehavior that can be settled over coffee in the teacher’s room or with a peace agreement. It is barbarous and structured thuggery disguised in school uniform,” he said.
Jausan believes the case should serve as a joint evaluation point, starting from the family environment to the school.
He questioned the parenting approach when children could engage in group violence against peers.
“When children grow up into gangs of bullies who cruelly beat up their peers en masse, there is a fundamental failure at home in educating the child. Basic human values and empathy have failed to be instilled from an early age,” he explained.

AMI also urges strengthening the role of homeroom teachers and guidance and counseling teachers (BK).
According to Jausan, homeroom teachers and BK teachers should not merely fulfill administrative duties, but must actively observe the psychosocial conditions and social dynamics of students.
They, he said, need to understand the character and social interaction patterns of students so that potential deviant behavior or group violence can be detected early.
“Homeroom teachers should be able to understand each student’s background. This way, it can be detected if a student shows signs of deviant behavior,” he stressed.
In addition to prevention, Jausan urged that the alleged case be handled firmly through the applicable legal mechanism.
