TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The football competition titled the Mayor’s Cup PSSI of Tasikmalaya for U-40 across districts was halted when a participant, Ahid Ali Hasbi, passed away following a critical medical incident while receiving treatment at RSUD.
Nevertheless, the halt of the tournament did not bring the sport of football to a standstill.
That determination was displayed through an exhibition match between PSSI Tasikmalaya and the Tasikmalaya City Government at Stadion Wiradadaha on Sunday evening (27/9/2026).
The match served as both a tribute and an act of solidarity toward the family of the late Ahid Ali Hasbi.

During the match, the goal for PSSI Tasikmalaya was scored by the organization’s chairman, H Wahid, via a penalty kick.
In reply, Pemkot Tasikmalaya’s goal was netted by Arif Gonzales, who serves in the Porkopim division.
The chairman of PSSI Tasikmalaya, H Wahid, stated that the charitable match was organized to honor Ahid, who died after suffering a medical emergency.
According to Wahid, the deceased’s family also attended the event. PSSI extended condolences and prayers, hoping that Ahid finds his best resting place and that the bereaved family is granted strength.
“Today we remember his passing as a friend, as a brother we shared a love for football,” Wahid remarked.
He clarified that, following the incident, the remaining tournament participants agreed to suspend the competition. The decision was made out of concern for the departed and his family.
Nevertheless, Wahid noted, football cannot simply be halted.

Wahid further emphasized that Ahid’s death was not caused by football. In his view, age and destiny are matters beyond human comprehension.
