Though I Am an Inept Villainess – Epilogue Illustration

The synopsis for the forthcoming cour runs as follows:
Through the actions of Reirin and Keigetsu, the disturbances caused by a curse within the inner court have subsided. Their body swap allowed them to learn each other’s true characters, and a friendship began to blossom between them.

Seasons have passed, and we now stand in early autumn. The ceremony where the Crown Prince and the Maidens pray for an abundant harvest—the Harvest Festival—has been set in the southern lands ruled by the Shu clan. With no consort to guard her, Keigetsu continues preparations for the Harvest Festival despite the pressure. Meanwhile, Reirin wholeheartedly supports Keigetsu while reveling in her first royal outing.

However, as soon as they arrive, an unexpected accident interrupts the ritual. In her agitation, Keigetsu’s spell spirals out of control, prompting another body swap with Reirin. Compounding the chaos, the Reirin who has just swapped is abducted…? !

Reirin’s two overprotective brothers, Kou Keikou and Kou Keishou, step in, thrusting the scenario into a surprising direction. Who is the new mastermind covertly entering to frame Keigetsu…? The delightful tale of swapped destinies, presented by two contrasting heroines, opens its second act, the “First Royal Outing” Arc!

Mitsue Yamazaki directs the anime at studio Doga Kobo. Yoshiko Nakamura oversees the series composition, and Ai Kikuchi designs the characters. Manaka Iwami voices Kou Reirin, and Natsumi Kawaida portrays Shu Keigetsu.

The anime adapts a light novel series penned by Satsuki Nakamura. The work debuted online on the Shosetsuka ni Naro platform in July 2020. Ichijinsha published the printed edition, illustrated by YukiKana, in December 2020. Simultaneously, a manga adaptation illustrated by Ei Ohitsuji began serialization in Monthly Comic Zero Sum.
