The production committee of The Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi) has unveiled a promotional video and disclosed the anime’s cast and crew. Miyari Nemoto and Youhei Matsuoka will portray the main characters Nora and Paracelsus, respectively. The series will be produced by Studio Passione, celebrated for works such as Nukitashi the Animation and Interspecies Reviewers.
Takeo Takahashi, who helmed the original Spice and Wolf anime, will act as chief director for this project. The rest of the team consists of:
- Hijiri Sanapei — Directs the series
- Kenta Ihara —Handles series composition
- Luka Standridge — Composes the score
- Yuka Takashina — Designs the characters
Details regarding the anime’s launch date and broadcast platforms remain undisclosed. Furthermore, no Western streaming service has yet secured the rights to the series.

Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi centers on Paracelsus, who, after his rebirth, resides in the city‑state of Orichalconia. In contrast to the bland world he abandoned, his new home is a fantastical land of alchemy and magic, though he still struggles financially.
Paracelsus’ circumstances soon shift after acquiring a shaman servant named Nora. His efforts to rescue Coco, an elf who has lost her senses and limbs, further complicate his life. Little does he realize that his rescue attempt will thrust him into a battle with the gods.
The series is based on The Fake Alchemist, a manga created by Jiro Sugiura and illustrated by Umemaru. It reimagines a webcomic originally posted on Sugiura’s Pixiv page. The work has been serialized on Kadokawa’s platforms KadoComi and Nico Nico Seiga since June 2023. Kadokawa has compiled the chapters into five tankōbon volumes, and Yen Press launched the English release in August 2025.
