TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The concern for breast‑cancer survivors continues to be promoted by the Pita Pink Foundation of Tasikmalaya. One of the ways is through a charity music concert held in the Car Free Day (CFD) area of Tasikmalaya City on Sunday (20/9/2026).
The event is part of the Pita Pink effort to ease the burden on cancer survivors while preparing a series of activities to commemorate Cancer Day, which will be held on 11 October 2026.
The Chairwoman of the Pita Pink Foundation of Tasikmalaya, Tuti Darmayanti, said that the charity concert was the first activity organised by the organization. The event was also supported by the Chairman of the Tasikmalaya CFD, Jupri, and the CFD Supervisor, Kompul. “This charity concert is intended to help cancer survivors. In addition, to prepare for the Cancer Day activities on 11 October 2026,” said Tuti.

She explained that the Pita Pink Foundation of Tasikmalaya currently has about 320 members. They are cancer survivors who come from Tasikmalaya City, Tasikmalaya Regency, Ciamis, Banjar to Pangandaran.
According to Tuti, the number has grown quite rapidly since the foundation was established in 2024. At that time, Pita Pink had only five members. “This charity concert is being held for the first time. Incidentally, the Chairman of the CFD’s son is also a cancer survivor who has finished chemotherapy. We will road show to various places to raise funds,” she said.
Currently, the secretariat of the Pita Pink Foundation of Tasikmalaya is located at Jalan Sutra, LIK Complex, in front of STIA Kawalu Campus.
Tuti also reminded the public not to ignore the appearance of lumps in the body. Because, breast cancer is now not only found in older people, but can also affect young people.
“Nowadays, people aged 17 to 30 are also affected by cancer. So, for those who have lumps in their body, immediately check with the nearest health facility. Do not wait until the condition is severe,” she said.
She admitted that she had been in a situation as a cancer survivor. Using that experience, Tuti encouraged people to have examinations as early as possible. “There are those who could not be saved because when they were treated the condition had already ruptured. Even though, when there is a lump in the body, it must be immediately examined by a doctor. I was also a cancer survivor, but now I have survived,” she said.
