The activity took place in Terminal 2E and featured pilots, cabin crew, and Lion Group staff performing a flash mob that drew passengers’ attention.
Lion Group President Director, Capt. Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi, stressed that safety is the core message of this Harhubnas event. Besides entertainment, Lion Group provided education and information on potential risks that could affect flight safety to passengers.
A key educational focus was the danger of Foreign Object Debris (FOD), foreign items that can threaten flight operations. Passengers also received information about situations that could lead to airport closures, such as earthquakes and volcanic activity that produce volcanic ash.
Capt. Daniel said, “Now is the right time to share this information so that passengers are more aware of the risks that may occur during flight.” Harhubnas 2026 serves as a strategic moment to boost public awareness of the importance of safety in the air transport sector.
Celebrations of Harhubnas in several regions also highlighted transport’s role in driving the economy and development. In Gorontalo, Governor Gusnar Ismail stressed that transport connectivity must be the engine of regional economic growth by ensuring that the transportation modes needed by the community are available and of good quality.
Meanwhile, in Kotabaru, the Harhubnas commemoration coincided with National Awareness Day (HKN), reminding civil servants to strengthen discipline and public service. The Mayor of Kotabaru underscored transport’s strategic position in national development, facilitating people’s movement, goods distribution, and strengthening interregional connections.
Safety and transport connectivity were the central themes of the 2026 Harhubnas celebrations across Indonesia, with Soekarno‑Hatta Airport serving as the focal point for Lion Group’s safety campaign. Through this activity, it is hoped that the public will better understand the importance of safety in every aspect of air travel to support safe and comfortable mobility.
