Thecuy.com, Jawa Tengah – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo gave his backing to the restoration of the grave of Pocut Meurah Intan, a woman warrior from Aceh who is buried in Blora, Central Java. Ganjar stressed the importance of maintaining the grave as a sign of respect and to strengthen brotherhood between Aceh and Central Java.
Ganjar had visited Pocut Meurah Intan’s grave and met Aceh students in Blora. He is committed to preserving the grave as a strong symbol of interregional brotherhood. Meanwhile, Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah hopes the grave will be restored and turned into a pilgrimage tourism destination that can attract visitors from Aceh to Malaysia. The Aceh government plans to allocate funding for the grave’s upkeep through the APBA Perubahan 2022 and has entrusted the restoration work to Bappeda Aceh.
In addition, Ganjar Pranowo also responded to the issue of the relationship between President Joko Widodo and PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri following the dismissal of PDIP cadre Achmad Hidayat. Ganjar considered it unnecessary to prolong the issue because Jokowi himself had stated that there were no problems with Megawati. He called on all PDIP cadres to focus more on important issues such as the global geopolitical situation that impacts the national economy, disaster management, and people’s welfare.
Ganjar stressed the importance of separating party political dynamics from interpersonal relationships within the party. He also mentioned that there were still many occasions and spaces for national leaders to meet, so the public did not need to speculate excessively about the relationship between President Jokowi and Megawati.
In the context of regional politics, Ganjar revealed a unique phenomenon in the Central Java regional election, where a single PDIP candidate faced an empty ballot box. According to him, political dynamics at the district or city level do not always align with coalitions at the provincial or central level, thus requiring an intensive consolidation approach to win the election.
Ganjar Pranowo affirmed his commitment to continue fighting for national recognition of Pocut Meurah Intan as a national hero, while also promoting unity and regional progress through cross-regional cooperation.
