TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Student Alliance of Tasikmalaya (AMT) urges the Tasikmalaya City Government to disclose the findings of monitoring a number of karaoke establishments that were previously inspected.

AMT’s Chairman, Riswara Nugroho, attended a meeting with the Tasikmalaya City DPRD on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The session, which included Commission I, II, and III of the Tasikmalaya City DPRD, followed up on a previous gathering between AMT and the Tasikmalaya City Government on July 28, 2026.

Riswara stated that, in an earlier meeting, AMT had asked the administration to oversee karaoke businesses, covering licensing, Building Planning Regulations (PBG) and Safety Regulations (SLF), tourism business standards, and tax obligations.

At that time, he said, the government, together with technical OPD, agreed to take follow‑up actions within 14 days. Inspections and spot checks of karaoke venues were also reportedly carried out in coordination with the Municipal Police (Satpol PP).

Nevertheless, after roughly a month, AMT questioned the outcomes of the inspection series. “What we seek are not mere promises that the issue will be addressed. We demand proof, documents, inspection results, and concrete actions,” Riswara stated.

Inspection Documents Under Scrutiny

During the meeting, AMT asked the government to present spot‑check documents, inspection results, and the data registry for karaoke businesses.

He questioned whether the inspection had been conducted comprehensively regarding licensing and operational aspects of the karaoke businesses.

“If inspections truly took place, there should be an official report, verification outcomes, inspection data, and supporting documents that are accountable,” he said.

AMT considered that the absence of the requested documents during the meeting raises doubts about the outcomes of the monitoring that had been carried out.

Nevertheless, Riswara emphasized that his side does not intend to level one‑sided accusations against either the government or the business operators.

In his view, all these matters need to be proven through an official examination and accountable data.

AMT also re‑raised questions about the PBG and SLF status of karaoke establishments in Tasikmalaya. Riswara noted that the SLF issue had previously been a key topic in discussions with the Tasikmalaya City Government.

Furthermore, they considered that claims of IMB ownership for several businesses should be verified, along with the obligation for Value‑Added Tax on Goods and Services (PBJT) linked to artistic and entertainment services, encompassing karaoke venues. General tax revenue data are not sufficient to resolve this issue. In his opinion, there must be a cross‑check between tax reports and the actual business conditions.
