Aka noted that 81 years ago, when Indonesia had just celebrated 15 days of independence, history recorded the birth of the Prosecutor’s Office. At that time, Mr. Gatot Taroenamihardja was inaugurated as the first Attorney General, marking the beginning of the Prosecutor’s long journey in safeguarding legal sovereignty in Indonesia.

He further explained that the presence of the Prosecutor’s Office at the dawn of independence was not merely a bureaucratic element, but a statement that Indonesia’s independence must also be upheld in the political and legal spheres.

“We are here as guardians of the proclamation’s ideals and defenders of the nation’s dignity. Therefore, today’s commemoration serves as a moment of self‑reflection for the Adhyaksa personnel, a reminder of our predecessors’ service, and a call to continue serving with sincerity to the institution, the nation, and the state,” said Aka, delivering the Attorney General’s mandate.

This year’s Prosecutor’s Birthday celebration also carries a different atmosphere. Unlike previous years, when the ceremony was conducted in Ceremonial Duty Uniform I (PDU‑I), the Adhyaksa personnel are now dressed in Field Duty Uniform (PDL).

According to the Attorney General’s mandate, the use of PDL is not merely a change of uniform, but symbolizes the readiness of the Adhyaksa personnel to face various situations.

“Amidst the various trials we are currently facing, we are reminded that the Adhyaksa personnel must always be ready to be present, to work, and to serve whenever the nation and society need them,” he said.

The Attorney General also acknowledged that the Prosecutor’s journey has not always been smooth. Various challenges, both internal and external to the institution, continue to test and compel the Prosecutor’s Office to undergo reforms.
