TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Dadaha development team does not yet have a final plan for designating specific locations for street vendors. Currently, only the GOR Sukapura complex and the area in front of the Tasikmalaya City Arts Building are being considered.
The head of the Dadaha Sports Complex UPTD, Dadang Ismail, explained that the reorganization was carried out after the team surveyed the street vendors who have been operating, particularly along the jogging track. He said the government is not merely enforcing regulations but also seeking solutions to ensure the traders still have space to operate.
“Regarding solutions, we have prepared three alternative locations. First, next to GOR Sukapura, second, along the route from TK Alphabet to Hotel Metro (in front of GKKT), and several other spots that are still being prepared,” said Dadang.

Based on the survey results, there are 179 traders who have been selling in the Dadaha jogging track area. However, the capacity of the alternative locations currently available is insufficient to accommodate all of these traders.
Therefore, the government will classify and determine which traders will have priority to occupy the relocation site.
There are at least four main criteria that become considerations: traders who sell every day, reside near Dadaha, are residents of Tasikmalaya, and have operated their businesses in the area for a long time.
The trader data was gathered through direct field surveys conducted by Dadaha security personnel. The data will then be cross-referenced with the records held by the traders’ association.
“Security personnel typically know which traders are old and which are new. We then cross-check that data with the association’s records,” Dadang said.
Meanwhile, traders who only sell on weekends, especially Sundays, will be directed to other alternative locations that are considered to still have economic potential.
Several locations being considered include the Jalan Baru area and the Car Free Day (CFD) zone. The plan is expected to maintain the traders’ economic activities without interfering with the primary function of the Dadaha Complex as a sports area.

“If the traders only sell on Sundays, there are still many alternative places that can be utilized. Our main goal is to restore Dadaha’s function as a sports area,” he said.
