TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – A white screen stretched across the residential area of Burujul III, Cipedes District, on Saturday evening (29/8/2026). Residents flocked to watch a film that was not only screened in their neighborhood but also acted in and produced by locals.
The film titled Ketuk Pintu was created by the Karang Taruna Tunas Mekar of Burujul III. Its screening was presented simply using a drive‑in theater concept and was offered free of charge to the public.
Addressing the theme of social concern, the film conveys a message about the importance of rekindling care within the community. Its slogan is powerful: “When concern begins to fade, one knock will change everything.”

Tasikmalaya Deputy Mayor Diky Candra, attending the watch‑together event, praised the creativity of Burujul III residents. He said the self‑produced film already demonstrates good quality, from editing to illustration.
“Even if there are shortcomings, they can likely be fixed, because even professional films always have some deficiencies,” said Diky, who is also known as a filmmaker.
According to Diky, there is another important value that emerged from the film‑making process. Art was able to bring together residents who had previously not known each other.
“What’s interesting is that the actors initially didn’t know each other. Through art, they got to know each other and united,” he said.
Diky hopes the creativity of Karang Taruna Tunas Mekar does not stop at one work. Similar activities are expected to continue developing, providing a space for the community to create and strengthen togetherness.
The enthusiasm was also evident among the residents who attended the screening. For them, Ketuk Pintu was not just entertainment, but proof that the community could produce works from its own environment. (Firgiawan)
