The Jakarta High Court overturned the decision of the South Jakarta District Court, which had previously ordered Nikita and her assistant, Mail Syahputra, to pay billions of rupiah in compensation.
In the appeal ruling, the claim for damages filed by Reza Gladys and her husband was declared legally unfounded. The judge considered that the evidence presented was insufficient to support the alleged material and immaterial losses amounting to billions of rupiah.
Nikita Mirzani’s legal counsel, Usman Lawara, clarified that this decision effectively nullifies the compensation payment obligation that had been imposed at the first instance. “The South Jakarta District Court ruling number 1000, which penalized Nikita and Mail to pay compensation, is deemed as if it never existed,” he stated. He further noted that the counterclaim filed by Reza Gladys is now considered futile due to lack of substantial evidence.
This victory confirms Nikita Mirzani’s legal standing, now free from any damage claims in the civil case. Nikita’s legal team is still contemplating further legal actions, but the win at the appellate level is already a breath of fresh air for the actress.
The case originated from a PMH lawsuit filed by Nikita Mirzani, which was initially rejected at the first instance. However, after filing an appeal, the Jakarta High Court reversed the decision, annulling the previous ruling and confirming that Reza Gladys suffered no losses.
