Thecuy.com, Karanganyar – A 17-year-old SMK student, Dude Kurniawan Pasha, was found dead after getting lost on the Banaran trail while climbing Mount Sumbing. The youth from Colomadu, Karanganyar, was separated from his two companions and his body was discovered in the Puncak Sejati area on Sunday morning.
The incident started when Dude and his two friends, Fatahilah and Rangga Dwi Arianto, began the ascent from the Banaran base camp on Friday night. All three, who were SMK pupils from the Colomadu district, chose to hike together to the summit of Mount Sumbing. After resting on the savannah, Rangga opted to descend early while Dude and Fatahilah continued onward to the peak.
During the descent, Dude took a different route through the northern cliff and became separated from Fatahilah. When Dude failed to return to the base camp, an alert was promptly reported to the mountain post. A search team consisting of ten members was deployed for the evacuation.
On Sunday morning, Dude’s body was located near the Puncak Sejati area and promptly taken to Post 4 of the Banaran route. The corpse was then transferred by ambulance to Temanggung District General Hospital before being handed over to his family. The burial took place in Gawanan Village, Colomadu, directly in front of the mourning house.

The Karanganyar BPBD team, together with the search and rescue unit, promptly responded to the missing person report. The evacuation involved transporting the body to Post 4 of the Banaran trail before transferring it to a hospital for further treatment. The entire operation was carried out with effective coordination between authorities and the victim’s family.
