TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The reduction of supplementary pay for civil servants (ASN) within the Tasikmalaya City Government has drawn attention from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Tasikmalaya. This is because ASN remains a favored segment for consumer credit among banks.

The Head of OJK Tasikmalaya, Nofa Hermawati, noted that consumer credit accounts for the largest portion of lending in the region, which spans from Sumedang to Pangandaran. By June 2026, consumer credit disbursements had reached Rp30.87 trillion, representing 53.06 percent of total credit provided.

This figure exceeds the share of working capital credit, which stood at 32.85 percent, and investment credit, which was at 14.09 percent.

Full chronology of the fight that caused a debus performer to die in Tasikmalaya, according to police. The suspect’s lawyer denies homicide, describing the Karangjaya incident as a violent act that resulted in the victim’s death.

“One of the reasons for the high level of consumer credit disbursement is that ASN remains a highly sought-after market segment,” said the Head of OJK Tasikmalaya during a press conference on Friday (21/8/2026).

According to Nofa, ASN is an attractive segment for banks due to its relatively low risk profile and still-open market share. This is also evident from the banking credit structure in the East Priangan region.

Overall, the total banking assets in OJK Tasikmalaya’s jurisdiction, covering seven districts/cities, amounted to Rp90.94 trillion. This value grew by 4.54 percent year on year. Third‑party funds reached Rp37.13 trillion, up 7.60 percent. Meanwhile, credit disbursement stood at Rp58.19 trillion, increasing by 3.26 percent.

Nofa stated that the banking sector’s performance overall remained positive despite the challenging economic conditions faced by some segments of the population.

“The banking sector can still achieve positive growth in performance,” he said.

Nevertheless, OJK continues to monitor the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), which reached 156.69 percent, up 0.12 percent year on year. Credit quality also remains a concern, with the Non Performing Loan (NPL) ratio recorded at 4.75 percent in OJK Tasikmalaya’s area. This figure decreased by 0.14 percent year on year but is nearing the 5 percent threshold that triggers attention.

This situation is partly due to the fact that some borrowers have not fully recovered from the impact of the Covid‑19 pandemic. Additionally, several economic policies are considered to affect debtors’ repayment capacity.
