TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com–Kelompok Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Islam Tasikmalaya (Unitas) Kecamatan Rajapolah, Desa Sukaraja, held a seminar to strengthen Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in an effort to encourage local business actors to improve product branding and marketing quality in the digital era.

The seminar titled “Strategy Branding and Marketing of Village UMKM Products in the Digital Era” was one of the KKN’s work programs that focused on community development, especially in improving the knowledge and skills of UMKM actors.

During the event, participants received material on branding strategies, digital marketing, the use of social media as a promotional tool, and simple product photography techniques. The photography material included lighting, angles, and product arrangement to make them more attractive when used for promotional needs.

The seminar material was delivered directly by the Chair of the KKN of Rajapolah Subdistrict, Sukaraja Village, Pitri Laisa Riswanti, together with two of her colleagues, Ayi Mumin and Nazwan. The three of them provided understanding as well as practical examples that could be applied by UMKM actors in developing their businesses.

The Kepala Desa of Sukaraja, Asep Nandang, S.Pd.I, welcomed the initiative of the KKN students who also provided education to the community, especially UMKM actors.

“Hopefully, what is conveyed can be beneficial and can be applied by UMKM actors in Sukaraja Village, so that existing local products can become more widely known and develop,” said Asep Nandang.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the KKN of Rajapolah Subdistrict, Sukaraja Village, Pitri Laisa Riswanti, hoped that what was conveyed in the seminar could provide an understanding that product quality needs to be balanced with good branding and marketing strategies.

“MSMEs not only need quality products, but also how those products have a strong identity and can be introduced to the public through appropriate marketing strategies, especially in today’s digital era,” she said.

According to Pitri, the use of digital media presents an opportunity for UMKM actors in Sukaraja Village to expand their market reach and introduce products to a broader consumer base.

In addition to the seminar, the KKN students of Rajapolah Subdistrict also provided assistance to several UMKM actors through a banner creation and business brand identity program. This assistance was a form of student support in helping to improve the attractiveness and identity of UMKM products in Sukaraja Village.
