PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – The Bandung Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) plans to launch a new campus in Pangandaran Regency. Nonetheless, the project requires extra land to become a reality.

According to the rector of ISBI Bandung, Dr. Retno Dwimarwati, S.Sen., M.Hum, they have held talks with Pangandaran’s mayor, Hj Citra Pitriyami, about the proposal. The institution intends to establish the campus in Cikalong Village, Sidamulih Subdistrict, covering roughly 30 hectares.

“God willing, construction will proceed, and as soon as the land is transferred, building can start immediately,” he stated during a press conference held at the Regent’s Hall on Sunday (23/8/2026).

If the pilot e‑retribution scheme run by Tasikmalaya City Government succeeds, parking vendors must adopt digitalisation. A people’s festival from morning to night! MPCR Tasikmalaya residents celebrated independence creatively, harmoniously and joyfully.

He clarified that ISBI conducted a site visit, meeting the village chief of Cikalong. Up to now, the project has been greeted with a favourable response.

“The village head gave a favourable reaction and gave permission for the ISBI campus to be built,” he remarked.

At the outset, ISBI received a 10‑hectare site, yet following consultations with the ministry it became clear that this did not satisfy the required 30‑hectare standard. Consequently, the institution is seeking an extra land grant from the Pangandaran District administration to fulfil the criteria.

Retno noted that should the initiative come to fruition, ISBI’s establishment in Pangandaran Regency would be a matter of local pride. She also expressed optimism that the transfer of land from the district government to the ministry would be expedited, allowing construction to start without delay.

“When it comes to faculties or study programmes, we plan to mirror those of ISBI Bandung; we do not intend to launch any new programmes,” he commented.

ISBI’s planned campus would become the second institution of higher learning in Pangandaran Regency. The tourism‑rich region already hosts a public university, albeit as an off‑site study programme of the main campus—UNPAD. (Deni Nurdiansah)
