TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com—Celebrations of Independence Day are still echoing across residential areas, including Tasikmalaya. Residents organized various events in their neighborhoods, each featuring unique activities.
Similar to the Mutiara Putra Ciawi Regency housing complex in RW 10, Pakemitan Kidul Village, Ciawi District, Tasikmalaya Regency, on Saturday (22/8/2026), residents spent nearly a full day organizing a series of events to commemorate the 81st Independence Day, featuring activities reminiscent of a folk festival.
In the morning, the program started with a healthy walk and a decorated bicycle parade for children, as residents circulated around the complex. They were accompanied by a group of kids on bicycles that had been creatively transformed with eye‑catching designs.

Some transformed their bikes into an airplane, a Garuda bird decoration, a miniature coconut climb, a bowl of noodles, a wandering vendor, and even a bier carried by a pocong. The bicycle decorations were judged, and the winners received prizes.
After a brief break, the event continued with a group exercise session led by an instructor, attended mainly by women. This was followed by a tug‑of‑war competition between neighborhoods, with separate categories for mothers and fathers.
The activities paused until the afternoon, when children’s art projects were showcased. In the evening, performances by teenagers and adults representing each neighborhood were held.
Throughout the events, special moments included prize draws for attractive items ranging from kitchen essentials to household appliances. The most appealing prizes were a water dispenser, a fan, a gas stove, and a branded wristwatch.
The evening concluded with a live music performance featuring an organ solo.
RW 10 Chairman, Asep Nurjaman, expressed gratitude for the residents’ enthusiasm and participation in all the events. It is hoped that this will enhance harmony and strengthen neighborly relations in the area. “Thank goodness the residents could gather in a joyful atmosphere; may neighborly bonds grow even stronger in the future,” he said.
Continuing, Asep noted that the 81st Independence Day celebration should remind everyone to make the most of this freedom, primarily through harmony and mutual assistance among residents. “If we remain united and cohesive, God willing, our lives will become more progressive and better,” he added.
