TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The United Development Party (PPP) of Tasikmalaya City has begun to rebuild its political and cultural networks after failing to place its cadres in the Indonesian DPR during the 2024 elections.
This step was taken, among other things, by visiting the Tasikmalaya City Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCNU) on Friday (21/8/2026).
Beyond a political visit, the meeting became a moment for PPP to reaffirm its ideological roots with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and to look ahead to the long road toward the 2029 elections.

The Chairman of the DPC PPP of Tasikmalaya City, Enjang Bilawini, along with the Secretary of the DPC, Riko Restu Wijaya, led the delegation on a friendly visit.
They were accompanied by several DPC PPP officials, namely Deputy Chairman Yanuar Mohammad Rifqi, Jenal Abidin, Fitri Saidah, and Heti Suartika, as well as Deputy Secretary Irwan Diwan Nur Ridwan.
From the PCNU of Tasikmalaya City, the Secretary PCNU KH Abun Sulaeman was present together with a number of other figures and officials, including Ajengan Aan Farhan, Ajengan Aos Mahrus, and KH Dodo Murtado.
The Secretary of the PCNU of Tasikmalaya City, KH Abun Sulaeman, warmly welcomed the arrival of the PPP delegation. According to him, historically PPP is not a foreign entity for NU.
“PPP is not a stranger to us. Because PPP was born from the fusion of four political parties in 1973, one of which was the Nahdlatul Ulama Party. So for PPP, NU is a common home in realizing Islam rahmatan lil’alamin, implementing the Ahlussunah Waljamaah An-Nahdiyah understanding,” said KH Abun.
This statement seems to serve as a reminder that politics has a long history that does not always end with seat and vote counting.
There are historical roots, social networks, and cultural relationships that PPP is trying to nurture again ahead of the next political contest.

The Chairman of the DPC PPP of Tasikmalaya City, Enjang Bilawini, referred to the visit to PCNU as a form of “returning to the common home.”
“Genetically and ideologically, we cannot be separated from Nahdlatul Ulama, which gave birth to PPP in 1973 together with other political parties, Parmusi, Perti, and PSII. Therefore, NU is the first Islamic mass organization we visited,” he said.
According to Enjang, the friendly visit was part of the work plan of the DPC PPP of Tasikmalaya City to rebuild the party’s strength.
