SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 TV series unveiled a fresh character trailer just before its scheduled January 2027 premiere. The original run posted strong viewership on Netflix, prompting a quick green‑light for the follow‑up after it concluded. The new season will feature a different helmer, as Daisuke Nakajima steps in to replace Masaki Watanabe, who will remain as chief director. The platform will again hold exclusive streaming rights for the series worldwide.
Studio TMS Entertainment will once more oversee the animation production, with Yo Moriyama reprising his role as character designer and Taku Kishimoto returning to manage the series composition.

The SAKAMOTO DAYS manga is penned and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It has been appearing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020, reaching 28 volumes as of August 4 2026. VIZ Media secured the English licensing rights. A live‑action movie adaptation premiered in Japan during the 2026 Golden Week (April 29 – May 5).
The narrative centers on Taro Sakamoto, a notorious ex‑hitman who hung up his weapons to settle down with a wife and start a family. He now manages a shop, yet his former reputation proves hard to escape. Though he appears far removed from his deadly past, Sakamoto will unflinchingly shield his loved ones and eliminate any threat directed at them.
