TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com — A fatal crash involving a Gran Max minibus and a Colt Diesel truck on Jalan Raya Jamanis, Tasikmalaya Regency, Monday (17/8/2026), has claimed more lives. The death toll has risen to four people.

Two additional victims passed away after receiving intensive care at RS Hermina Tasikmalaya. Their bodies arrived at the RSUD dr Soekardjo Tasikmalaya morgue at around 19.30 WIB.

R2EI emergency rescue chairman M Sandi Permana confirmed that the two victims were part of the group involved in the Jamanis accident.

“Yes, these are the victims involved in the Jamanis accident. There were five patients brought to RS Hermina. However, two patients were declared dead after receiving treatment,” Sandi said when met by reporters at RSUD dr Soekardjo Tasikmalaya on Monday night.

The two deceased victims after treatment were a woman around 50 years old and a boy estimated to be 10 to 11 years old.

Both received medical treatment. However, the severity of their injuries could not be saved.

With the addition of these two victims, the total number of fatalities in the Gran Max and Colt Diesel truck accident in Jamanis has now reached four.

“So the total number of deaths is four, two at RSUD and two at Hermina,” Sandi said.

Sandi said the victims’ families had begun heading to Tasikmalaya after receiving the tragic news.

“Just now, the information is that the victims’ families are heading towards Tasikmalaya, specifically from Jakarta and Cilacap,” he said.

Based on preliminary identification, all deceased victims were passengers of the Gran Max minibus.

The four victims are Rasidi (52), who died at the scene and was identified through his KTP. Then Nurlaelah (50), who also died at the scene and was identified through the Mambis Inafis tool.

The other two victims received treatment at RS Hermina Tasikmalaya before dying, namely Rasti, Rasidi’s wife, and Andri Rustandi (12), Nurlaelah’s son.
