According to the Assistant for Government and Community Affairs at the South Sumatra Provincial Secretariat, Dr. Apriyadi, the bidar boat contest is an inherited custom that forms a key element of the region’s cultural heritage. The provincial authority expressed appreciation for the event, which both safeguards cultural assets and fosters tourism and creative economic opportunities.

The top honour in the Traditional Bidar Boat race went to Ogan Ilir Regency, with Sinar Permata Lahat securing second place and the Palembang United Community Association (PMPB) Sumsel taking third. Wildcard awards were also presented, featuring cash prizes ranging from Rp12.5 million to Rp25 million. Meanwhile, the Decorated Motorboat contest was won by Perumda Tirta Musi Palembang, earning a prize of Rp7.5 million.
