Thecuy.com – The Mobile Specialist Doctor Program (Speling) launched by the Central Java Provincial Government has successfully reduced the distance to specialist health services for villagers, especially those with limited transport and financial resources. This initiative provides a solution for residents who struggle to reach hospitals, exemplified by Retno from Kapulogo Village in Wonosobo Regency, who can now have her child examined by a specialist without a long journey.

Benefits of the Speling Program for Communities

Since its launch in March 2025, the Speling Program has offered complimentary health services at village halls throughout Central Java. The initiative brings in specialists from various fields for examinations, consultations, and treatment. For example, Jamsari from Pidodo Kulon Village now receives regular diabetes monitoring at no cost, while Feni Anindya from Banyumas accesses mental‑health support through psychologist consultations.

Key Services and Achievements of the Program

The program concentrates on five primary services:

  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening
  • Cervical cancer examination
  • Mental‑health services
  • Prenatal care for pregnant women
  • Paediatric health services to accelerate stunting reduction

By August 2026, Speling had visited 1,378 villages with a total of 1,553 sessions, serving over 128,000 residents. Tuberculosis screening reached 53,463 individuals, prenatal check‑ups covered 15,848 pregnant women, and mental‑health services were accessed by 37,605 citizens. Thousands of cases were identified early, enabling prompt and precise treatment.

Collaboration with National Programs and Positive Impact

The Central Java Provincial Government integrated Speling with the national Free Health Check Program (CKG). This synergy propelled Central Java to record Indonesia’s highest CKG participation, exceeding 14 million enrollees from January to July 2026. Zulfachmi Wahab, Head of the Central Java Health Department, emphasized that the initiative emphasizes not only early detection but also follow‑up care and comprehensive community health support.

Efforts to Build Better Community Health

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi stressed that health services must reach villagers and not be confined to hospitals. The Speling Program exemplifies a transformation in public health services, enhancing human‑resource quality and supporting poverty‑reduction efforts. The goal for the end of 2026 is to assist 284,000 individuals across all districts and cities with easily accessible specialist care, free from distance and cost barriers.
