Thecuy.com – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta, often referred to as UNU Jogja, is a private Islamic university founded by the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama together with the Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The establishment decree carries number 529/KPT/I/2016 and was issued on 23 December 2016, while the official opening ceremony was held by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Mohammad Nasir, on 10 March 2017, attended by the Chairman of the PBNU, KH. Said Aqil Siroj. At that same event, the first rector, Prof. Purwo Santoso, M.A., Ph.D., who also serves as Deputy Chairman of PWNU DIY for Strategic Studies and Higher Education and is a professor at Gadjah Mada University, was inaugurated. The campus is situated on Jalan Ring Road Barat, Dowangan, Banyuraden, Gamping, Sleman Regency—a locale that has long been a key hub for higher education in Yogyakarta.
Despite its relatively recent inception, UNU Jogja is moving quickly to forge an identity as an institution that fuses the traditional pesantren scholarly model with a worldwide perspective. The university presently administers five faculties offering ten study programmes, and holds an active status with a “Good” accreditation rating according to the Higher Education Data Warehouse. Several of its flagship initiatives are designed to enhance graduate competitiveness and foster social transformation, from intensive English language courses for all students each semester, a business incubator and prototyping centre, to specialised study centres such as the Center for Sharia Finance and Digital Economy (SHAFIEC) and the Centre for Population and Family Welfare Studies. Its international outlook is also underscored by the university’s membership in the World Futures Studies Federation, as recorded in its official documentation.

- Indonesian citizen and practicing Islam.
- Undergraduate degree in Law (Master’s in Notarial Law is an advantage).
- GPA minimum 3.25 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent).
- Maximum age of 30 years as of 31 December 2026.
- 1–2 years of experience in the legal field.
- Proficient in contract drafting and review.
- Capable of preparing legal opinions and conducting legal audits.
- Familiar with civil law, employment law, and Dikti regulations.
- Good moral character, never convicted of a criminal offence, and drug‑free.
- No family or kinship ties (spouse, children, in‑law, siblings) with UNU Yogyakarta staff.
