Thecuy.com, Pandeglang – Sub Terminal Carita in Pandeglang Regency still sees very low activity, even though the terminal was built at a cost of Rp2.3 billion from the 2016 regional budget. This leads to many vacant kiosks and limited use of the terminal area as a transportation hub and economic driver for the community.
Aktivitas Terminal yang Masih Sepi
The Head of Transportation at the Pandeglang District Department of Transportation, Tb Haruji Hermawan, said that even though the sub‑terminal is not completely unused, activity there is extremely low. Damri buses still use the terminal as a passenger waiting area, while city buses (angkot) merely pass through without entering.
“Mornings, mid‑day (around 11 am and 1 pm) and early hours are still calm. Damri buses are the only ones that stop, while city buses just pass through,” Haruji said.
Kondisi Fasilitas dan Kios yang Perlu Perbaikan
In addition to low vehicle traffic, many kiosks in the terminal area remain vacant. The Department of Transportation is offering rental opportunities to the public to revitalize the terminal and generate local revenue (PAD). To date, however, no tenants have taken advantage of the available spaces.
The terminal’s supporting facilities are also in disrepair. Some sections have leaks, and water supply has become a problem, prompting the Department of Transportation to seek assistance from PDAM to meet the area’s water needs.
“The infrastructure needs extensive repairs and there is no water available,” Haruji added.
Posisi Strategis dan Upaya Pengelolaan Terminal
Sub Terminal Carita occupies a strategic location on a main road, theoretically making access and usage easier. Nevertheless, inadequate infrastructure conditions hinder the optimal functioning of the terminal.
The Pandeglang District Department of Transportation is committed to improving facilities and encouraging the community to use the available kiosks. This effort is expected to revive terminal activity and contribute to the local economy.
Tantangan dan Harapan ke Depan
The low activity and sub‑optimal facilities at Sub Terminal Carita constitute an ongoing challenge for the Pandeglang District Government. Effective terminal management and facility upgrades are essential to ensure that past investments yield maximum benefits for the community and support local transportation and economic development.
