Sword Art Online: Sugary Days depicts Kirito and Asuna’s married life and has just hit shelves in Japan. The book was launched on August 7, presenting a tale that focuses on the couple’s newlywed days.
Set shortly after the events of The Day Before, the narrative centers on Kirito and Asuna as they begin their wedded days residing in a log cabin on the 22nd Floor of Aincrad. Beginning as a tranquil slice‑of‑life story, it later propels the pair on a quest to commission bespoke furniture pieces, such as a dining table and an armchair, crafted by the skilled player Mahokl.

Created by the series’ originator Reki Kawahara,Sugary Days debuted as a series of short pieces presented at various gatherings, was later edited and partially gathered as an extra novella bundled with the 2015 limited Blu-ray edition ofSword Art OnlineII. Kawahara subsequently issued a full-length version with an additional epilogue in 2018. The forthcoming edition marks the story’s debut as a regular retail book.
Recently the franchise introduced the game Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad together with the extended anime Unanswered//butterfly. Additionally, a brand‑new original anime film titled Sword Art Online the Movie: Integral Domain is set to appear in 2028. The movie, conceived by Kawahara, will be helmed by the series’ veteran character designer Shingo Adachi and produced by A‑1 Pictures and Psyde Kick Studio.
