Thecuy.com, Boyolali – The canteen and warehouse of SD Negeri 1 Jerukan situated in Jerukan Village, Juwangi District, Boyolali, were utterly destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Thursday, August 6, 2026. The blaze is thought to have originated from an uncontrolled trash fire near the school premises.
Around 02.15 WIB, locals noticed flames at the back of the school and quickly alerted others. Residents, a school security guard, and a teacher joined forces to douse the flames, finally bringing the fire under control by roughly 05.00 WIB.
Fakta Kebakaran
The fire engulfed a semi‑permanent wooden building measuring approximately 5.65 × 4.70 meters. The flames started from leftover trash burning beside the structure and spread, consuming the canteen and the warehouse.
Head of Juwangi Police, AKP Aris Sunandar, reported that there were no fatalities, but material losses are estimated at about Rp20 million. Officers have conducted a scene examination, collected witness statements, and inventoried the damages while investigating the cause of the incident.

The fire occurred during the dry season, a time when the risk of blazes from trash burning rises. The school’s wooden construction allowed the flames to spread rapidly, resulting in total destruction.
AKP Aris called on the public to exercise greater caution when burning trash or engaging in other activities that could spark fires, in order to avoid similar occurrences.
Dampak dan Upaya Pemulihan
The blaze disrupted the school’s canteen and warehouse facilities. Nonetheless, learning activities at SDN 1 Jerukan are expected to continue normally despite the damaged amenities.
The school administration, together with community members and local authorities, is coordinating repairs of the affected facilities to restore the educational process without delay.
