The forthcoming anime version of Shozen has unveiled its debut full trailer, solidifying an April 2027 launch. The show originates from Jiang Jia Meizi’s fantasy manhua, which appears on Bilibili Manga.
The fresh trailer showcases the principal actors, such as:
- Rina Kawaguchi portrays Shozen
- Hiroshi Kamiya voices Taoist Master Dozen
- Daisuke Sakuma voices Ryojin
- Aoi Yuki voices Kensei
- Ayumu Murase voices Chiro

Shozen depicts the itinerant Taoist Dozen, who stumbles upon a girl nurtured by yokai. He names her Shozen, adopts her as his pupil, and begins a trek as she slowly absorbs human feelings and empathy. The official summary reads:
“One day, Dozen, a traveling Taoist priest, meets a young girl being raised by yokai. Unaware of human feelings or affection, she is given the name “Shozen” by Dozen, who accepts her as his apprentice and lets her join his wanderings. What defines good? What defines evil? Thus begins Shozen’s path of training and growth as she discovers what it means to be human.”
Itsuro Kawasaki (Arc the Lad, The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting) handles directing and screenplay, while Dangun Pictures and Cannon Code share production duties. Eri Osada designs the characters, and Taku Iga composes the soundtrack.
Simultaneously with the trailer’s release, news emerged that the source manga has started serialization in Japanese on the digital service RyaCom.
