The series, created by Tite Kubo, was published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 through 2016, finishing with 74 volumes. It has sold over 130 million copies globally, ranking it among the top‑grossing manga franchises ever.
The first anime series ran from 2004 to 2012 and spawned four movies. The franchise made a comeback in 2022 with BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, covering the manga’s concluding arc. The concluding segment, Part 4, is slated for a July release, and Tite Kubo has indicated it will contain even greater original content than earlier installments, broadening the epic final confrontations. Hulu has announced that this last portion will consist of ten episodes.
