BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War (TYBW) Part 4 has unveiled the preview for Episode 2 (the 42nd episode overall). The series made its comeback with the fourth and final cour, titled The Calamity, on July 25, and will consist of 10 episodes.
The anime held its early U.S. theatrical premiere with the first three episodes. Episode two is called “SON OF DARKNESS,” and you can find the synopsis and preview images below.
The intense clash among Askin Nakk Le Vaar, Yoruichi, and Urahara continues.
Even Yoruichi’s “Shunko: Raijin Senkei (Thunder God War Form), Shunryu Kokubyo Senki (Flash War Cry: Thunder Beast Battle Form: Flash God Black Cat) is defeated. With both cornered, Nakk Le Vaar advances after turning into his Quincy: Vollständig, “God’s Poison Taster.”
At the same time, Ichigo and Orihime climb to the highest level of Wahrwelt and face Yhwach upon his throne. Yhwach’s and Haschwalth’s abilities swap places only during nighttime. Even without “The Almighty,” Yhwach keeps smiling bravely…

Created by Tite Kubo, BLEACH ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016, concluding after 74 volumes. Its global print run has topped 130 million copies, placing it among the all‑time top‑selling manga series.
The first anime aired from 2004 to 2012 and spawned four theatrical films. The franchise returned in 2022 with BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, adapting the manga’s final arc. The concluding segment (Part 4) is scheduled for July, and Tite Kubo has confirmed it will contain even more original material than prior parts, extending the series’ ultimate battles.
Incidentally, BLEACH: Mirrors High introduced its lead characters in a new trailer, showcasing original character designs crafted by Tite Kubo.
