The anime world is once again enlivened by a new series that immediately grabs the attention of fans. However, this isn’t only because of its compelling storyline, but many viewers feel this anime shares a strong similarity with Jujutsu Kaisen. From character design, the concept of powers, to the atmosphere of its battles, everything reminds fans of that phenomenal work by Gege Akutami. Here are the new anime series similar to Jujutsu Kaisen.
This phenomenon sparked debate on social media. Some fans consider this similarity as a tribute to Jujutsu Kaisen, while others feel the new anime takes too many inspirations and loses its own identity.
New Anime Resembling Jujutsu Kaisen
1. Why Is It Called Similar to Jujutsu Kaisen
One of the main reasons is the concept of a supernatural world that forms the foundation of the story. Similar to Jujutsu Kaisen which introduces curses and jujutsu sorcerers, this new anime also presents battles against supernatural beings with a structured and rule-filled power system. This makes many viewers immediately sense a familiar atmosphere from the first episode.
Moreover, its main character also shares several similarities with Yuji Itadori. The protagonist is energetic, possesses extraordinary physical abilities, and is involved in a supernatural conflict that far exceeds his own scale, becoming a formula that is hard to ignore. Some media even label the anime Black Torch as one of the series closest to Jujutsu Kaisen‘s tone.
2. Spectacular Battles as the Main Attraction
One of the key strengths of Jujutsu Kaisen is its intense and beautifully choreographed battle scenes. This new anime appears to try delivering a similar experience, featuring fast-paced animation, impressive visual effects, and fights that combine strategy with supernatural powers.
For modern shounen fans, such a formula is clearly very appealing. No wonder many viewers gave significant attention right from the start of its broadcast.
3. Is This a Bad Thing
Actually it’s not necessarily so. In the anime industry, many great works are inspired by their predecessors. Even within anime and manga communities, fans often recommend series like Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, and Blue Exorcist to Jujutsu Kaisen viewers because they share similar themes and vibes.
What matters most is how the anime manages to develop its own identity as the story progresses. If it successfully presents unique characters, engaging conflicts, and a distinct world, then the initial resemblance can become an advantage to attract viewers.
4. Potential to Become a Major Hit
The popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen has led many fans to seek out shows with a similar vibe. Therefore, a new anime that offers a blend of supernatural action, charismatic characters, and epic battles has a high chance of succeeding in the market.
Even though it’s still sparking debate now, one thing is certain: this anime has managed to get the anime community talking. And in the entertainment industry, such attention often becomes an early sign of a new hit’s birth.
What do you think? Is this anime too similar to Jujutsu Kaisen, or could it become a worthy successor to fill the void after Yuji Itadori’s adventure ends?
